Annie Duke may not have came away with her 1st WSOP Bracelet until two thousand and four but she remains one of the most feared poker competitors around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-awaited World Series of Poker win came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While players from the "younger generation" of poker go crazy after a huge win at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four children. She was born in New Hampshire and grew up in a family of card players. If you do not believe that, watch her sibling, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught Annie how-to compete in poker.

However, Annie Duke is not a small-potatoes girl and has captured her share of difficult tables, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on numerous occasions.

Earning over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Annie became a consultant to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to build up his abilities and become a big player in poker.

You might catch Annie at the Bellagio, you will catch her on the tv and you may even play against her in a web poker match, but don’t bank on an easy win. Unless you are a champion-in-the-making, you’ll not defeat her. although, it would be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
