Terrible Luck in Poker

For a match where most gamblers rarely consider good luck, there are lots of superstitions in poker. When you say that a player was lucky in that poker tournament they captured, be mindful of how you say it. For instance, if you mention that you were unlucky, your luck may never change.

Ok, that might sound a bit strange, but poker is a casino game armed with superstitions. Did you know that if you’re wagering a game with two different decks and you’re asked to choose the deck, you should always pick the deck that’s furthest from you? Or, what If you have a streak of poor cards, you must hang out on a hankerchief to break your terrible luck? It is certainly considered good luck to blow through a pack of cards when they are being shuffled.

A few other interesting poker folklores are:

  • You might be able to alter the run of cards by passing around your chair 3 times.
  • The luckiest spot at the poker table faces the entrance.
  • The worst seat has its back to a fireplace.
  • When changing seats, you should always do so following the clock.
  • The most detrimental poker card is the four of clubs.
  • It’s most unfortunate to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Sun is a awful day for betting on cards.
  • The thirteenth is also a horrible day, no matter when it falls.
