Web poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the bank instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you must either make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original bet, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your bet goes directly to the house. After the wager is the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus a sum equal to the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays money equal to your wager and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- two to one for two pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
