Online poker has become world famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house instead of each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the dealer broadcasting "No further bets." At that point, both you and the bank and of course all of the different gamblers are given five cards each. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you need to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s amount is akin to your original bet, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your bet goes instantly to the casino. After the bet comes the showdown. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with an amount in accordance with the initial bet. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays out cash even with your bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
